LTP OBJECTIVES

Seas and oceans

This long-term priority under the LTP objective ‘Tackling major societal challenges’ aims to enhance three key areas of marine-based research and innovation. ‘Marine bioresources and marine management’ enhances research and innovation efforts in the areas of fisheries, aquaculture, new industries based on marine bioresources and the knowledge basis for managing ecosystems and resources in marine areas. ‘Marine technology and maritime innovation’ contributes to research and innovation related to vessels, the shipbuilding industry, and the service and supply industry, while ‘Petroleum and minerals’ targets research, innovation, demonstration and piloting in petroleum activities of relevance to the Norwegian continental shelf.

Marine Forests of animals, plants and algae: nature-based tools to protect and restore biodiversity
