EU-prosjektet "Evaluation of financing of forestry in Europe".

The purpose of the project is to analyse how forest sector related financial policy instruments are handled in different countries. For this the project will employ a network of researchers and policy makers to cooperate in gathering and investigating the oretical and empirical relevant materials. The overall goal of this study is to investigate forestry funding politices and programs in the participating European countries concentrating on comparative analyses on the effectiveness, efficiency and equity o f alternative public financing programs; and in addition, between public and private action to achieve the forest policy goals. Wherever enough materials are available, econometric modelling is going to be used. Forest policies to secure biodiversity and other non-market services will be an important part of the project.
