Regional research Biobank in Central Norway

The Biobank is conceived as a consortium, to be established by formal agreement between the Regional Health Authorities (Health Mid-Norway) and its affiliated hospitals, on one hand, and the Medical Faculty of the Norwegian University for Science and Tech nology (NTNU), on the other. The Medical Faculty will primarily be responsible for providing the necessary scientific expertise and infrastructure. The Regional Health Authorities will provide the link to the hospital wards, policlinics and laboratories, where the patients receive their treatment and where biological material is sampled and examined. The main tasks of the Biobank are to provide: - an organisational framework for effective management of collections of biological material for scientific re search - legal, administrative and other support for researchers engaged in FUGE projects - supervision and control of the FUGE activities within the Biobank's sphere of authority and responsibility
