The Cryo Flow Probe combines the advantages of sample flow with the superb sensitivity of Cryo Probes. The Cryo Flow Probe offers an enhancement of up to 400% in sensitivity over conventional flow NMR Probes. Hyphenated techniques such as LC-NMR and LC-SPE-NMR, as well as high-throughput NMR screening methods will greatly benefit from this quantum jump in sensitivity. Such an improvement means shorter measuring time or substantial decrease in the amount of sample required. The Cryo Flow Probe is built as an inverse Dual 1H/13C probe and equipped with a z-gradient and 2H-lock circuit. This probe allows on-flow or stop-flow analysis utilizing Bruker BioSpin's LC-NMR Accessory. Using NMR on-line with small biological samples requires miniaturized separation systems and miniaturized probes and separation in deuterated solvents, in order to obtain sufficient sensitivity. A high-field (600 MHz) NMR-instrument is required for high resolution and sensitivity and is already installed. The main part of the current project is to add a cryo cooling unit and a LC-NMR probe with cryo cooled coils (with liquid helium) to already existing equipment.
