This project aims at providing an appraisal of the socio-economic impacts of climate change to Norway, based on the present state of knowledge about the expected climatic changes. Results from various available studies about impacts of climate change on e conomic sectors, in particular locations and from certain changes climatic factors will be harmonized and generalised and transformed in order to fit into a national framework for analysis of socio-economic impacts for the country, based on the system of national accounts. A macroeconomic analysis of alternative climate scenarios will also be provided. In addition, the project will raise two issues of methodological importance for national assessments of impacts of climate change. One is how to implement impacts on what is usually called non-economic activities, such as recreation. The other is the sensitivity of an impacts assessment to how reinvestments in damages from hazards are implemented.
