The goal of the National Veterinary Institute (NVI) is deliver decision support of good quality for decisions made within the area of animal health and welfare and food safety. According to the political signals and the needs seen, the NVI will intensify the work on preparedness related to all items for which it is responsible; diagnostics, disease knowledge, epidemiology and risk assessments.
To develop knowledge and competence for improvement of the preparedness and as a basis for the decision support to be given within the area fromearth and fjord to table.
The projects incorporated are entitled
1 The importance of the bacteria in the Mycobacterium avium complex for human and animal health in Norway.
2 How can the risk for introd uction of Campylobacter in broiler flocks be reduced?
3 Penicillium-toxins in food and feed
4 Characterising the inflammation response in cod
Four PhD's and some part-time reaserchers will be resposible for the research activity. Project will be orient ed towards preparedness in various areas of which NVI is responsible
