7 - 2nd Norwegian Environmental Toxicology symposium: Joining forces for an Integrated search for Environmental solutions

Awarded: NOK 99,999

Sustainable development within environmental carrying capacity and minimal human health risk consequences is a central issue toxicological and environmental studies and research. Within the concept of environmental carrying capacity and minimal human heal th risk, the evaluation and development risk assessment tools should happen simultaneously with new technologies. It is generally agreed that nobody has the right to pollute an environment with subsequent harm to human and/or wildlife health, and that we all have the moral responsibility to protect the environment and preserve wildlife diversity as a resource both for the present and for future generations. For wildlife species, reproductive development is a commitment to future generation and is a life t ime or continuous process throughout ontogeny. Based on the success of the 1st symposium in Oslo (2004), we are motivated to arrange a 2nd symposium in Trondheim to "highlight" Norwegian Environmental toxicology Research in the global climate change persp ectives. NTNU and Norwegian society for pharmacology and toxicology (NSFT) are joining forces for an integrated search for environmental solutions and to promote the activities of the different research groups, governmental agencies and private sectors fo r the continuation of this national network building and targeted attempt to promoting the international visibility of Norwegian toxicology and environmental science research.
