It has been observed that there is always a significant flue gas channel between the power generation plant and the CO2 removal plant. In simple terms the new idea is to exploit this flue gas channel to perform all processing needed on the flue gas in the channel described. When successful, this will eliminate the need for an absorption column, so far considered to be the single most expensive item in the CO2 removal process. The pressure drop will also be reduced and hence lower the operating costs. It i s also intended to perform pre-cooling and amine recovery water wash as well in the channel. The regeneration step is not addressed in this project.
