FME-Forskningssentre for miljøvenn

Fase 1 - Oslo Centre for Sustainable Transport

Awarded: NOK 0.20 mill.

This proposal is focused on the development of knowledge necessary for the implementation of efficient greenhouse gas (GHG) abatement measures directed at the most important transport activities on land, at sea and in the air in the Norwegian society, and more generally in the international community of nations. It also takes into consideration other environmental externalities arising from transport, whether or not the measures susceptible to reduce these nuisances would appear as helpful to GHG abatemen t. To this purpose, we propose to create the Oslo Centre for Sustainable Transport, specialised towards the development of interdisciplinary knowledge on how efficient GHG abatement and mitigation measures can be implemented in society, and on calculati ng their environmental, economic, fiscal and distributional effects.
