Studies on the implementation of treaties on economic, social and cultural rights in China and Norway (ESCR Network)

The primary aim of the project is to establish a network for research on the implementation of treaties on economic, social and cultural rights in China and Norway. The network will be based at the Faculty of Law at the University of Oslo. Invited partner s in China are the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), The Law School of Beijing University and The Central University of Nationalities (CUN) - all located in Beijing. The main activity of the network will be a research conference in 2010, to be fo llowed by cooperation on publications. The research focus of the network is relevant legislative measures for implementation of treaties on economic, social and cultural rights and the role of the judiciary in implementing such measures. The research sh all describe current implementation of legislative measures, analyse challenges regarding effective implementation and explore possible solutions to the problems identified. Target groups of the project results are legislators, administrators, the judicia ry and scholars in both China and Norway.
