The planning of the Norwegian ELIXIR Node

This project will support the development of plans for establishment of a Norwegian Node of the ELIXIR European Bioinformatics Infrastructure. It will involve activities to increase the awareness of the initiative in the Norwegian community of bionformati cs users and mapping out needs and priorities in the user group. Further it will involve organisation of a meeting with key stakeholders including participating institutions, contributing and collaborating group both in academia, industry, and government and representatives from related infrastructure projects including National and International efforts. This will form basis for development of a plan for the establishment and operation of a Norwegian Node including its organisation, funding, interface to the user community and other infrastructure projects, and importantly its scientific profile that is defining areas in which the Norwegian Node will serve as a competence and resource centre for the entire ELIXIR infrastructure and the international user community.
