European Conference on Developmental Psychology Bergen August 2011

The University of Bergen, Research Centre for Health Promotion by professor Bente Wold has been selected as the host of the 15th European Conference on developmental psychology (ECDP), to be held in Grieghallen in Bergen 23-27 August 2011 (www.ecdp2011.co m). The conference is organized in collaboration with the European Society of Developmental Society (ESDP) (www.esdp.info). The ECDP Bergen conference will cover all aspects and research domains of developmental psychology, with a particular focus on lon gitudinal studies. The conference format will include keynotes, symposia, thematic sessions and poster sessions. Pre-conference workshops with topics of particular interest to young scientists in developmental psychology will be organized. Oral presentati ons, posters and symposia will present studies on how psychosocial influence processes at critical life stages are related to the development of mental health and health behaviours, as well as studies on risk and resources to be addressed in the preventio n of mental health problems and the promotion of wellbeing and quality of life. Based on experiences from previous conferences within the ESDP, the Bergen conference is expected to attract between 600 to 800 international researchers. The conference repr esents a unique opportunity for international collaboration and profiling for Norwegian researchers and psychologists.
