China: Norway-China cooperation and workshop on material research for renewable energy and efficiency applications (RENERMAT)

Awarded: NOK 0.43 mill.

The functioning, efficiency, performance, integrity and life time of renewable energy systems are critically dependent on the material selection and design. One of the key areas in nanotechnology is to design and produce nanomaterials for renewable energy applications. The main objective of this proposal is to invite about 8-10 very best experts in China in selected fields of clean energy materials, nanomaterials and nanotechnology for renewable energy applications, flow and health, and modeling and exper imental methodology, to Norway to hold a Norway-China workshop. The aim of the workshop is to exchange the latest knowledge, build strategic research partnerships, discuss concrete joint Norway-China research projects, encourage the participation of Chine se and European research programme, last but not least the flow of master and PhD students. The workshop is open to both Norwegian research groups and industry working on renewable energy. Special effort will be made to attract Norwegian undergraduate and PhD students to the workshop to get contacts with the top experts in China.
