Fieldwork to determine genetic adaptation of Arctic charr to changing polar climate (RiS ID 6210)

The field grant for the FieldCharr project will be used to investigate the adaptation of Arctic charr (Salvelinus alpinus), to the extreme polar environment through the study of genetics. As the only Arctic polar freshwater fish species, Arctic charr serv e as an important model in which to investigate adaptation to extreme environments, a crucial need under current changing climatic conditions.
