Project Period:

2014 - 2015

ARP 2014 is an interdisciplinary conference gathering 100-150 academics and practitioners within the field of record production from all over the world. The ARP conference is affiliated with the Association for the Study of the Art of Record Production (A SARP) and is the only academic conference in its subject area. The conference is a meeting place for interdisciplinary exchange on the art of record production and gathers scholars engaged in research into record production within all genres of music and from very different angles: music technology, popular music studies, organology, sound engineering, aesthetics, and music and media. ARP 2014 will be organized by, and located at, the University of Oslo Department of Musicology. The conference lasts for three days and the program consists of a scientific part (paper presentations in parallel streams, keynotes and panel sessions), workshops and social events. Hosting the conference in Oslo will strengthen the connections between Norwegian research milie us and the best international researchers and research groups in the subject area. Through publicity and outreach activities we also wish to expose the state-of the-art research and teaching going on in the Dept. of Musicology at the University of Oslo to the national academic and non-academic world outside of the university.
