Samhandlingsprosjektet i Møre og Romsdal 2014-2016

VRI Møre and Romsdal is geographically limited to the county of Møre and Romsdal. Several strong industrial clusters that have mainly been developed on the basis of proximity to and the use of the sea dominate the business sector here. VRI 3 will work to lift up the region in the areas in which it has specialist business and knowledge assets and potential in the global knowledge economy. Three business clusters and the public sector will be under the spotlight through VRI's four areas of focus: - Maritime technology - Marine value creation - Furniture and interior design - Cooperation in health In addition, it will be possible for other knowledge-intensive industries to make use of VRI's tools, including most notably: - Tourism/experience industry - Medi a technology - Energy Innovation and the ability to apply new knowledge are both critical competitive factors for companies in the region who are increasingly operating in a global competitive arena. In this respect, VRI has an important role to play by connecting the R&D environment with business and industry so that research-based innovation processes are launched and stimulated into practice-based education. In many cases it will be necessary to use interdisciplinary expertise as parts of projects an d activities. Individual knowledge platforms will be developed into which knowledge will be collected, systematised, and made available for use in research, teaching, and business development. Four instruments will be used in the focus areas: knowledge b rokering, pilot projects, personal mobility, and the learning arena. VRI will also cooperate closely with other funding agencies in order to extract as much as possible out of the collective resources invested in innovation and R&D in the region. During t he course of VRI 3, preparations will be made to establish how to mobilise research and innovation once VRI is phased out in 2016.

Nærheten til og bruken av «havrommet» er grunnlaget for de sterke næringsklyngene i Møre og Romsdal. VRI vil arbeide for å forsterke arbeids- og næringslivets innovasjonskraft ved å koble næringsaktører, offentlig sektor og FoU-miljøene til felles aktivit eter. Den store utfordringen for regionen er å videreutvikle de praksisnære prosessene og samtidig utvikle systematisk FoU-arbeid i verdensklasse på viktige områder for nærings- og arbeidslivet. VRI vil i denne forbindelse sørge for å - Styrke FoU-kompet ansen og -kapasiteten gjennom et tettere strategisk og faglig samarbeid mellom FoU-miljøene i regionen, samtidig som en knytter sterkere bånd til strategiske alliansepartnere i inn- og utland. - Mobilisere bedrifter til økt FoU-innsats, særlig i NCE/Aren a-klyngene som har behov for mer forskning for å kunne styrke sin posisjon. - Utnytte synergier mellom bransjer/sektorer/fag i utviklingsarbeidet og med havrommet som en fellesnevner for å øke kunnskapsgrunnlaget til nytte for næringslivet, forskning og forvaltningen. - Bidra i utviklingen av næringer både med og uten koblinger til petroleumssektoren som gir et variert og robust arbeidsmarked - Støtte opp om praksisorienterte utdanningsløp ved å koble studenter tettere til praksisfeltet - Styrke kvalitet en i offentlige tjenester og slik at det ikke legger beslag på mer ressurser enn nødvendig. VRI vil stimulere til at det brukes tverrfagelig, generisk kompetanse når det er hensiktmessig. Der i blant ved å utvikle tverrfaglige kunnskapsplattformer som sa mler inn, systematiserer, tilgjengeliggjør og bruker kunnskap om havrommet. Det vil i løpet av prosjektperioden også bli arbeidet med å berede grunnen for et system som viderefører den regionale mobiliseringen til forskningsbasert innovasjon etter at VRI fases ut I 2016.
