VRI 3-Innlandet; Innovasjon og vekst gjennom samhandling

The focus areas in VRI Innlandet are bio-economy and tourism and outdoor activities. In VRI Innlandet all the instruments in the VRI program are used to achieve the objective: " VRI Innlandet will help to develop a more dynamic, productive region in colla boration with the regional partnership and other funding agencies." There are two work packages in the focus area bio-economy 1. Increased competence as a basis for renewal in Forest - and the tree industry and 2. Increased coordination and mobilization of research in bioenergy. In the tourism and outdoor activities the focus area is "Development of venues for innovation, skills development and knowledge transfer." KM, BP and PM should be the foundation for establishing and developing contacts betw een the industry and research communities. Using Dialogue and cooperation shall create venues for interaction, Competence Brokerage and Corporate Projects will provide industrial players easier access to funds and expertise than is possible in other re search programs. In that way they are able to quickly apply research to address smaller projects and to have the opportunity to qualify for other programs. Personal Mobility will be used to ensure exchange of expertise between the research communities and business. The results from the projects will be disseminated through articles in the media, academic contributions at conferences and on our own websites.

For perioden 2014-16 vil Innlandet forsterke innsatsen med hovedfokus på innsatsområdene skogens bioøkonomi og reiseliv og opplevelsenæringer. Innenfor skogens bioøkonomi videreføres nåværende aktivitet på bioenergi i regi av Alliansen for bioenergiforskn ing i Innlandet (Allbio), men med en utvidelse mot skognæringenes nye utfordringer knyttet til nedlegging av Tofte. Innenfor reiseliv og opplevelsesnæringene utvides det geografiske virkeområdet i forhold til dagens fokus kun mot Lillehammer Turist og Sno wball. Valget av innsatsområder skal bidra til å bygge opp under arbeidet mot økt befolkningsvekst og næringsutvikling som er de overgripende mål for fylkeskommunene, og målene i de regionale planstrategier. Innretningen av VRI-Innlandet må ses som et vi rkemiddel for å bidra til å realisere mål og strategier i FoU-strategi for Hedmark og Oppland 2013-2016, Strategi for skog- og tresektoren i Hedmark og Oppland 2013-2016, Regional plan for opplevelsesnæringene i Hedmark 2012-2017 og Reiselivsstrategi for Oppland fylkeskommune fra 2013.
