Overvann som ressurs - Økt bruk av overvann som miljøskapende element i byer og tettsteder.

Asplan Viak AS has expertise within a large variety of fields and disciplines, and we want to use this to create a new service offering at the interface between already established disciplines. The project will utilize expertise in landscape architecture and conventional water and wastewater engineering to focus on the current status with respect to modern stormwater management in Norway. Increased frequency of heavy precipitation and more total rainfall is expected due to climate change. This will lead to increased amounts of stormwater in cities and towns. Climate change, combined with an increased urban density, will reinforce the need for good stormwater management. Water surfaces in the city can be used actively to create and improve the experience qualities of the outdoor environment, whilst at the same time solving the challenges related to both increased and more frequent precipitation through adopting appropriate measures within modern stormwater management. The question is how good intentions within environmental planning and design related to modern stormwater management materialize in good overall solutions. Authorities, builders, contractors, designers, and operators must together contribute to create and manage facilities that produce the desired effect both hydrologic, visually and ecologically. The goal of the project is to develop a blueprint for a comprehensive model for planning, design and implementation of modern stormwater facilities. A key issue is how the involved disciplines can complement each other during the design phase to achieve a good holistic thinking with regard to a blue-green structure and thereby contribute to an increased inclusion of appropriate modern stormawater solutions in the urban environment.

Asplan Viak AS har stor bredde i fagkompetanse, og vi ønsker å skape et nytt tjenestetilbud i grenselandet mellom etablerte disipliner. Prosjektet vil utnytte kunnskap om lokal overvannshåndtering sammen med mer konvensjonell vann og avløpsteknikk. Vann i by inkl. åpne renner, bekkeløp, vannspeil, dammer samt vegetasjon, kan brukes aktivt for å skape opplevelseskvaliteter i utemiljøet, og samtidig kan man oppnå positive effekter knyttet til fordrøyning av regnvann og flomforebygging, rensing og biologisk mangfold. Spørsmålet er hvordan gode intensjoner innen miljøriktig prosjektering knyttet til vannarrangement materialiseres i gode estetiske og tekniske løsninger både på og under bakken, slik at både myndighet, byggherre, entreprenører, prosjekterende, u tførende og driftsansvarlige skaper og forvalter anlegg som både gir ønsket miljøgevinst og besparelser knyttet til infrastruktur. Målet med prosjektet er å utvikle en modell for planlegging og prosjektering og gjennomføring.Et hovedmoment er hvordan invo lverte disiplinene kan utfylle hverandre i prosjektering for å oppnå et økt innslag av vann som miljøskapende element i urbane miljø.
