Nanocrystals for remediation of flame retardants from airport sites

Nanomaterials are applied in a range of technologies, encompassing nanoelectronics, data-storage, energy sciences and other avenues including nanobiology and nanomedicine. The proposal NANOCRYST encompasses the development of nanomaterials for the environ mental remediation of flame retardants found globally at aeroport sites. The application of nanomaterials in remediation is still in its early stages and requires a set of paramount challenges to be solved, including nanoparticle fabrication, encapasulati on/preparation and administration. The project NANOCRYST begins with a preproposal for the networking funding to orgnaize a European consortium. NANOCRYST brings forward a proposal to be submitted to COST, which requires a minimum of 4 additional partners , for the synthesis, product development and application of reactive nanocrystals for soil remediation purposes.
