* First of all, if the goal of our proposal will be "to develop novel multi-modal adaptive Interfaces" we have to be sure what "novel" involves. An eye-tracking alternative channel for easing the interaction between the user and a certain application, or a tool allowing speech recognition for blind people will not be enough. * Another aspect deals with the user modelling. General questions are: Why are we going to adapt the user interfaces? Why would the platform present an alternative communication chan nel? Is it because the user might be disabled? Then, which user's capabilities will the platform support? Are we considering more than disabled users? How does the context participate in such scenario? * We will take into consideration the concept of Cons iderate Computing, which deals with the possibility of causing stress and discomfort in the user due to the attention/interruptions that current gadgets require/perform. This can be connected to dynamic adaptations in a user interface. * We plan to consid er a smart home scenario, then we should consider which kind of sensors and objects might participate not only in the adaptation itself but in tasks related to the user modelling. For example, to collect information about the current activity/activities, to complete the user profile, etc. In the realisation of this concept, we will start on the end users' side; who needs it really and why? We will look into inclusion in general, for example including people who really struggle with reading and writing, in the society. Inclusion arenas are (1) work, (2) school/education, (3) hobby/leisure and (4) socialization. Our target groups are people with cognitive impairment, i.e. dementia/MCI, and people with intellectual disability such as Down Syndrome. C ognition may also ?strike? because of trauma, such as traffic accident, or other degenerative illnesses (MS, Parkinson).
