Project Establishment Support for "Mitigation, adaptation and policy pathways Leading to Enhanced Sustainability (MILES)" (SC5-3b)

The "Mitigation, adaptation and policy pathways Leading to Enhanced Sustainability" (MILES) project will elaborate country-dependent trajectories for achieving sustainable development, climate protection and human welfare at a global scale. By doing so it will contribute to the partial integration of the large bodies of scientific fields on climate change, economic welfare and policy action which suffer currently from fragmentation. MILES will fill this gap via an improvement and development of smart and innovative modelling tools coupling the interdisciplinary expertise expressed in the consortium composition. The expected outcomes provide countries and a stylised option portfolio for its further development compatible with climate protection, adaptation to unavoidable consequences of climate change, sustainable development goals and a maximum of individual welfare.
