Developing a national strategy for ANAEE; Analysis and Experimentation on Ecosystems

Awarded: NOK 0.50 mill.

AnaEE (Infrastructure for Analysis and Experimentation on Ecosystems) is part of the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures Roadmap (2010) as a new distributed EU infrastructure for ecosystem research. AnaEE is a research infrastructure for experimental manipulation of managed and unmanaged terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems. It will strongly support scientists in their analysis, assessment and forecasting of the impact of climate and other global changes on the services that ecosystems provide to society. ANAEE will provide a European context for developing and sustaining crucial axes of environmental and climate change research in Norway. This European context will include access to state of the art experimental and analytical facilities as well as common international databases, expertise and partners' facilities, and standardized quality insurance methodologies across Europe. AnaEE entered the Preparatory Phase on November 2012 with Bioforsk as partner. In 2014, NIVA has joined the AnaEE PP-project, while NMBU has taken the role of national contact point. The present proposal will provide the necessary support for liaising between AnaEE PP and the Norwegian community (e.g. contact point activity), representing AnaEE Norway at international fora (e.g. in Nordic networks), and organizing a national forum towards an integrated national contribution to AnaEE.
