Awarded: NOK 49,999

Project Manager:

Project Number:

247367

Project Period:

2015 - 2015

Location:

The seminar will bring together researchers in Norway and internationally, interested in education policy and practice, who wish to explore questions of rights, inequalities and diversity from an interdisciplinary perspective, examining in particular questions of methodology and epistemology. The seminar fulfils three FINNUT objectives: research capacity building; promotion of methodological diversity; and strengthening national and international research. Our goals are: (1) to build methodological capacity in this research field (specifically exploring positionality and intersectionality); (2) to inaugurate a European network of researchers addressing human rights, inequalities and diversity in and through education at various levels: including pre-school, basic education and higher education/ professional training; (3) to present initial findings from a base-line study of attitudes to diversity and human rights in schools, conducted at HBV in collaboration with NTNU, Trondheim. Human rights and diversity in education is one of the priority areas for research development at Buskerud and Vestfold University College (HBV) and a key area for education research across Europe.
