Open virtual neighbourhood network to connect intelligent buildings and smart objects

Awarded: NOK 0.12 mill.

PES2020-søknaden retter seg inn til H2020-ICT-30 utlysningen om smarte objekter innenfor energi, transport, mobilitet, helse og livskvalitet. I Norge planlegger vi en demonstrator i samarbeid med en helsehus-utbygger som planlegges i en bydel av Halden og Fredrikstad The primary aim of the VICINITY project is to provide the owners of connected smart objects with a decentralized interoperability. The concept decentralism is expressed by the fact that the platform include neither central operator roles, nor central databases to store sensitive data about users, nor central catalogue with the structure of users and their IoT nodes. Instead of that, it connects different smart objects into a ?social network? called virtual neighborhood where infrastructure owners keep under control their shared devices and data thanks to web based operator console called VICINITY neighborhood manager (VNM). Thus each smart object owner dispose with his/her own catalogue of shared resources and the resources that other users have shared with him/her. Using the VNM the user can control which of his/her IoT resource is shared with whom and to which extent. To get connected to the VICINITY platform, the users are provided with the VICINITY open interoperability gateway. Integration to VICINITY can happen on Network/infrastructure level and on edge device level to be deployed through a IoT infrastructure. VICINITY søker å være Platform-of-platforms for å kunne bevare semantisk interoperabilitet i en dynamisk omgivelse.
