Supporting citizens' climate science in Bangladesh: Sending Bangladeshi scientists to the Fabfuse conference

Awarded: NOK 26,497

This application is for MILUTV-arenaer funding to support international collaboration on the design of citizens climate science, to inform climate adaptation in northeast Bangladesh. It is proposed to augment dissemination and coordination activities within the Norwegian Research Council-funded TRACKS research project: Transforming climate knowledge with and for society (projecttracks.net). Specifically, the application is to fund travel and registration for two early-career Bangladeshi scientists (one female, one male) to attend the international Fabfuse workshop on citizen science at Amersfoort University, from 21 to 23 August 2015. The workshop will enable the Bangladeshi scientists to: (i) engage with international experts in citizen science; (ii) share their own experiences from Bangladesh; and (iii) collaboratively design the citizen science phase of the TRACKS project, due to begin in 2016.
