European Operations Management Association (EurOMA) conference 2016

Awarded: NOK 0.25 mill.

The European Operations Management Association (EurOMA) is Europe's leading professional association for Operations Management, and in competition with a number of leading European universities, NTNU has won the bid to be the organisers of the 23rd international EurOMA conference in 2016. A core objective of NTNU's internationalisation strategy is to host world-class international research conferences in our fields of research. As such, the initiative is fully supported by the rector of NTNU, as well as the Mayor of Trondheim. The conference will be organised by two departments at NTNU: the Department of Production and Quality Engineering and the Department of Industrial Economics and Technology Management. The two departments have a long tradition for cooperation in education, research and special events. Conference chairs are Professor Heidi Carin Dreyer, Associate Professor Torbjørn Netland, Professor Luitzen de Boer, and Professor Jan Ola Strandhagen. SINTEF Technology and Society is also involved in the organisation. The organisation committee will be supported by the Professional Conference Organisers (PCO) NTNU Videre. In addition, the key Norwegian universities and university colleges involved in Operations Management research and teaching will be important contributors to the success of the event. The theme of the conference is Interactions, highlighting the Scandinavian research tradition of applied and multidisciplinary research performed in close collaboration with industry. We believe this will be a great opportunity to showcase Norwegian Operations Management research, demonstrating how our user-oriented applied research creates value, improved solutions, and innovations for industry and society. The event is expected to attract around 530 delegates and guests to the 2,5 day event in Trondheim 19-21 June 2016.
