Clinical research for the validation of a glucose monitor

Awarded: NOK 39,999

Poor glucose control in Intensive Care Units (ICUs) today lead to increased hospital costs and worse patient outcomes. Current glucose monitoring technologies cannot ensure safe glucose control because they are not good enough at detecting or predicting hypoglycaemia (low glucose). Better glucose monitoring technology is needed. Based on published clinical and animal studies we believe that our technology will help ICUs reduce costs and improve patient outcomes, as hypoglycemia can be detected and avoided. The most critical R&D challenge with the h2020-project is to test the hypothesis of increased effectiveness in sufficiently large scale in a real-life setting, and to confirm performance in a representative patient sample.
