Vivo Archivo

Awarded: NOK 0.50 mill.

Our vision is a future with dramatically enhanced healthcare services organized differently than today. A significant part of the global population will in the near future carry sensors that, non-intrusively to their everyday life, extract information about the transient state of their biology. The vision is that this information is streamed in real-time to an organizing service called Vivo Archivo. The users own their data and are empowered to take initiative to engage the service providers that best suit their needs. The service providers are not like today's national multifunctional institutions, but rather highly specialized global commercial entities. The aim of the project is to pilot a limited set up of our vision, test various assumptions and find answers to key research questions on robustness of the ecosystem Vivo Archivo. Important research questions that will be addressed are: RQ1: For each of the stakeholders, what are the (cyber/privacy/...) risks relating to the system as proposed? RQ2: How do the most relevant ICT architectural alternatives (software, hardware, operational) perform relative to security requirements? RQ3: How to utilize the increasing amount of incoming data to make robust and reliable classification and prediction algorithms for personal health status? RQ4: How can we develop business models that enable private and public health service providers to offer better and more cost-effective services and enable the consumers to initiate behavioral changes? A key enabler of Vivo Archivo is GlukoPred, the world's first non-invasive, continuous blood glucose measurement device, to be launched to the market in 2016. It's disruptive technology has potential to recruit a significant user base in large international markets. There is a huge potential for using the project results in scaling the set up to involve several biomarkers and health service providers nationally and globally for a better and more effective health care system.
