Arrangering av Nordisk Proteomikk Konferanse i Bergen 2018

Arranging the Nordic Proteomics Conference is done in different Nordic countries every second year, and in 2018 it was Norway?s turn to arrange this conference. The goal was to gather scientists within the field of proteomics from the Nordic countries to present their ongoing work, exchange experience, and potentially find new collaborators. The conference was a success as 105 participants from Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Island, plus speakers from other parts of Europe participated. Some of the leading European experts in the field was also invited to present their ongoing work so that the Nordic participants could benefit from their experience and expertise. . In total there were 37 scientific presentations. We also arranged two workshops as part of the conference and both of these were fully booked, with more than 50 participants in total. This was a unique chance as one locally in Norway could learn more about the most utilized bioinformatic tools to analyze proteomics data. Usually one has to attend larger international conferences to participate in such workshops with equal high quality. This offer was in particular very popular among the Master, PhD and post doctor students. The goals of the conference, gathering the Norwegian and Nordic proteomics field, learn about status on ongoing research in the field, and be an arena for initiation of new collaborations was definitely fulfilled and we are very pleased with the conduction of this conference.

Det Norske Proteomikk Forum, hvor jeg er President, skal arrangere Nordisk Proteomikk Konferanse i 13-16. februar 2017. Vi har landet på at Svalbard vil være en attraktiv lokalisasjon for dette møtet og vi har allerede tiltrukket oss noen av de fremste i feltet som foredragsholdere. Vi forventer ca 100 deltakere fra Norge, Sverige, Danmark og Finland. Vi har opprettet en nettside for konferansen og er godt i gang med planleggingen. Alle inviterte foredragsholdere er bekreftet og påmeldingen er ventet å begynne i løpet av juni 2016. For ytterligere detaljer se prosjekbeskrivelsen.
