Hyper visiting researcher Ishimoto from IAE Japan

Awarded: NOK 0.31 mill.

Dr. Yuki Ishimoto is a visiting researcher from Japan to Norway related to the Hyper project, RCN KPN-project 255107 "Liquefied hydrogen production from surplus wind/hydro power and fossil sources in Norway, Hyper" The scientific objective for the visiting researcher has been to evaluate large scale liquid hydrogen transport chains and provide benchmarking relative to other hydrogen transport solutions proposed. - The researcher exchange will enabled a significantly increased activity within this area compared to planned and budgeted activity in the Hyper project. - It further enhanced the cooperation between Norway and Japan within this area, Japan being the most developed market for hydrogen in the transport and energy sector.

The project will provide additional funding for a visiting researcher exchange from Japan to Trondheim, Norway in connection with the Hyper project (KPN-project 255107 "Liquefied hydrogen production from surplus wind/hydro power and fossil sources in Norway ? Hyper") The researcher exchange enabled through this project will increase the volume of activity within chain analysis significantly and will enable both a broader and deeper insight into the transport chains utilizing liquefied hydrogen, as well as for alternative concepts. It is also very important in increasing the cooperation between Japan and Norway in an area which Japan is leading, and which may become an important market for Norway.
