ESOCC 2017: 6th European Conference on Service-Oriented and Cloud Computing

Awarded: NOK 49,999

The ESOCC scientific conference is organized approximately every 12 months and gathers 80-150 participants from all over the world to share their knowledge and latest research on services and cloud computing. ESOCC is the premier conference on advances in the state of the art and practice of service-oriented computing and cloud computing in Europe. Cloud computing is a game changer for European software industry, allowing products to move from expensive on-site installations to a flexible, service-oriented model. By hosting the conference in Norway, we would like to draw attention to the related Norwegian research (including the SFI Sirius and our EU-funded projects Envisage, HyVar, and Melodic) as well as relevant Norwegian industry which is increasingly interested in exploiting cloud technologies for digitalization. The conference is organized by the University of Oslo. It will contain an academic and an industry track, tutorials, workshops, invited talks by leading international researchers, presentations of accepted papers (reviewed by an international program committee). The expected audience are researchers and software developers from Europe, USA, and Asia. Funding from the Research Council of Norway will be of major importance to keep the registration fee paid by each conference participant at a moderate level. Thus, more people would be able to attend and experience a comprehensive conference program.
