Sirkulær Samfunnsarena

Summary Samfunnsarena was a network that functioned as an ecosystem around the project partners Polytechnic Society (responsible), Tekna and Samfunnsviterne. The network gathered and linked business and research environments and was supported by the Norwegian Research Council's BIA program. The network organized its work as a project in the period 1.5.2017-31.12.2019. The first part of the project focused on an all-day summit on how household electronic equipment can be included in more circular processes. In order to engage more broadly and to create more relevance for sustainable value creation in many sectors that are all undergoing digital change processes, the project was changed to be more agile and active. In 2019, the network focused on "Digitization with meaning", where actors across industries and academies inspired each other to use digital technology in a way that contributes to sustainable value creation. The seminar series brought together users of digital technology with actors who set the framework for what the technology should contribute. Objective The purpose of the network was to share best practices and thereby stimulate good user-driven innovation projects for circular business models and digitalisation that contribute to sustainable value creation. Results The project has succeeded in: - Exchange of knowledge and expertise - Marketing and dissemination of knowledge and information - Professional cooperation and arrangement of meeting Places In 2018, the network together with RENAS, EFO and Lent organized an all-day summit on "How can we make household electronic equipment part of more circular processes?" The gathering of 30 participants was organized in the Polytechnic Society on March 14 with three initiators, four facilitators and seven trainers. Results from group work were presented and discussed in plenary and with a panel of participants from Equinor, Pure Consulting and the Norwegian Research Council. The collection was video-documented and a detailed report prepared. Report and video were disseminated to all participants and network partners and used as a basis for experience in many contexts among the partners. The partners have further developed their business models in daily operations. The project partners in the network considered the process in spring 2018 to be too little inclusive and too slow. Project Manager Polytechnic Society changed management during the project period and the network partners agreed on renewed joint efforts. In 2019, the networking activities included 6 seminars at the Polytechnic Society: - Digital sustainability. About global trends around data democracy and Norway's potential benefits. - Who spends on the Minister of Digitization? About technology development and gender balance. Podcast. - Digitization vs. Privacy: Does the target justify the means? About technology development and privacy beyond GDPR. - Human Centric Design Thinking. About organizational development in the driver's seat for technology rollout. - Does Tech flip the nation state? About what happens in regulatory, political, financial, security, cultural and with your and my identity when technology companies quickly gain a strong influence. Podcast. - Trust as the key ingredient in the fintech of the future. About frameworks we as consumers can set for national and global digital wallets. The community seminar series was an open, interdisciplinary and innovative meeting place to share knowledge and stimulate action so that digitization contributes to sustainable value creation. Each seminar gathered about 50 people from the ecosystems around the Polytechnic Society, Tekna and Samfunnsviterne. Participants from the business community and academia excited widely among leaders, experts and talents across disciplines and industries. Each seminar consisted of introductions from professionals, followed by user dialogue where participants shared knowledge and exchanged ideas. The seminar was concluded with short submissions in which participants summarized their learning. Some of the introductions and learning posts were distributed as presentations and podcasts open in the market. Through the seminar series, active participation was set up, which should stimulate the introduction of best practices across industries and technologies and promote ideas for BIA projects among the participants. Sammendrag: Sirkulær Samfunnsarena er et nettverk som fungerer som et økosystem rundt prosjektpartnerne Polyteknisk Forening (ansvarlig), Tekna og Samfunnsviterne. Nettverket samler og kobler næringsliv og forskningsmiljøer og er støttet av Norges forskningsråds Brukerstyrt innovasjonsarena (BIA). Nettverket organiserer sitt arbeid som et prosjekt i perioden 2017-2020. For 2019 fokuserer nettverket på «Digitalisering med mening», der aktører på tvers av bransjer og akademia inspirerer hverandre til å ta i bruk digital teknologi på en måte som bidrar til bærekraftig verdiskaping. Dette innovasjonssamarbeidet inkluderer partene i arbeidslivet og vil i 2019 arrangere tre nettverkssamlinger, som også vil deles som podkasts. Mål: Nettverket har som formål å dele beste praksis og derigjennom stimulere til gode brukerstyrte innovasjons-prosjekter for digitalisering som bidrar til bærekraftig verdiskaping. Format: Seminarserien Samfunnsarena 2019 er en åpen, tverrfaglig og innovativ møteplass for å dele kunnskap og stimulere til handling slik at digitalisering bidrar til bærekraftig verdiskaping. Seminarserien samler brukere av digital teknologi med aktører som setter rammer for hva teknologien skal bidra med. Seminarserien består av 3 halvdags-seminarer i uke 14, 23 og 41. - Seminar 1: Hva er digitale teknologier og hvordan kan de brukes i ulike sektorer? - Seminar 2: Hvilke samfunnsmål vil vi nå med digitale teknologier? - Seminar 3: Hvordan jobber vi med digitale teknologier for en bærekraftig utvikling? Nettverket vil vurdere mulighetene for å gjennomføre et 4. seminar under Arendalsuka i uke 33. Det kan da være aktuelt å bringe inn betalende partnere fra næringslivet til en workshop om digitalisering som fremmer bærekraftige forretningsmodeller. Seminarserien samler ca. 50 personer fra økosystemene rundt Polyteknisk Forening, Tekna og Samfunnsviterne. Deltakere fra næringsliv og akademia i seminarserien vil spenne vidt blant ledere, eksperter og talenter på tvers av fagfelt og bransjer. Hvert seminar består av introduksjoner fra fagfolk etterfulgt av workshop-stasjoner der deltakerne deler kunnskap og utveksler idéer. Seminaret avsluttes med korte innlegg der deltakerne oppsummerer sin læring. Introduksjonene og læringsinnleggene tas opp som podkast, som distribueres åpent i markedet. Gjennom seminarserien legges det opp til aktiv deltagelse som stimulerer idéer for BIA-prosjekter blant deltakerne. Seminarserien bygger på erfaringene fra Sirkulær Samfunnsarena 2017-18, men gjennomføres mer agilt og aktivt for å engasjere bredere og for å skape mer relevans for bærekraftig verdiskaping inn i mange sektorer som alle gjennomgår endringsprosesser med digitalisering.
