CHARM was established in 2011 with financial support from the Norwegian Research Council in order to meet the need for research within rehabilitation services increasingly characterized by complex needs of persons with disabilities and service systems. The mission of CHARM is to improve the quality of care of persons with disabilities in a life course perspective by conducting high quality research on (re)habilitation policies, models and services. CHARM should represent a national network of core milieus for research excellence and user collaboration, illuminating the key challenges in terms of capacity, quality, continuity and predictability in rehabilitation services. Furthermore, in collaboration with the international research community, we plan to develop innovative models to meet these challenges in the provision of (re)habilitation services.
