Project Period:

2018 - 2019

Subject Fields:

This project relates to support funding to develop two separate European applications related to antimicrobial resistance to be submitted by the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (NIPH) in 2018/19. Both applications will be submitted to Horizon 2020's Work Programme 2018-2020, partnering with Akershus University Hospital and Oslo University Hospital. The projects plan to: (1) Test innovative surveillance projects for better detection of extended-spectrum beta-lactamases (ESBL) in Gram-negative bacteria, specifically Enterobacteriaceae producing ESBLa and ESBLcarba enzymes as well as develop novel infection control interventions and tools exploiting the AMR organisms as part of the human microbiota to define personalized approaches (2) Develop "real-time" high-quality tools for genetic surveillance of resistance pathogens.
