Pilottest av undervanns elektrisk aktuator

Alternative title: Pilot test of subsea Electric actuator.

Awarded: NOK 2.3 mill.

The goal of the project is to perform pilot testing of an electric actuator used for subsea applications. This is based on the fact that several oil companies are developing all electric solutions for subsea control systems. This implies that all hydraulically driven/controlled equipment with the associated expensive hydraulic supply lines and control equipment, are replaced with electric cables, with all electric solutions for communication and control of all subsea valves and instruments. An actuator is defined as the device controlling and regulating mechanical components, allowing these to move either through a rotation or as a one-axis movement in two directions. This project witll qualify and test an electric actuator, applied on a subsea choke valve,- used for controlling the flow of oil/gas from each well.
