High intensity interval training (HIIT) is by far the most efficient way of staying healthy and in shape - claimed by scientists all over the world. It is done by alternating the intensity of a workout between high and low intensity, for instance four minutes of high intensity, and four minutes of low intensity. This is then repeated a number of times. The question that rises when looking at all the proven benefits of HIIT is then, why aren't everyone doing it? Unfortunately, HIIT is not easy. It requires a lot of both physical and cognitive effort as you push your body towards maximum intensity at the same time as you have to pay attention to your intensity level, duration of the specific interval as well as what number of interval you have performed. It is specially important to control the intensity since you can very easily accumulate lactic acid in your muscles if this is too high, and because you won´t get much effect if it is too low. Easy Intervals solves these problems as we have developed a way to regulate the intensity automatically, based on your individual fitness level. This has the following implications: 1: With Easy Intervals everyone can perform high quality intervals, regardless of experience and fitness level. 2: The workouts will be 100% fair and a person being out of shape and a top athlete will have the exact same experience, even though the athlete will work harder. 3: As we are optimising for intensity, the actual workload will be as low as possible - without compromising on any of the health benefits. Developing Easy Intervals has not been easy as it requires expertise from exercise physiology, embedded system development, regulation and cybernetics - to name a few. Now that it is done, we are extremely eager to bring this to the rest of the world so that it will become easy to stay healthy and in shape - for everyone.
