Haugesundkonferansen 2019

The Haugesund conference addresses current topics in the maritime area. The conference is forward-looking, where R & D and innovation are central. Norway has a relatively large maritime industry and interest. Cooperation between politics, authorities, research communities and industry is important in order to succeed in a global buisiness. Technological developments in maritime transport are moving rapidly, with increasing digitalization, demands for new efficient and environmentally friendly solutions, as well as automated operations in a industry with high demands for conversion. The conference has focus on new orientation and opportunities for maritime industry. Research and development, as well as innovation, have been central to this. The conference also aims to facilitate different environments that benefit from collaborating on R & D. The 2019 conference includes a number of lectures that reflect this. Margareta Holtensdotter Lützhöft holds lectures on research on human factors in interaction with technology (HUMAN project) The conference presents three MAROFF projects Sensor Fusion and Collision Avoidance for Autonomous Surface Vehicles, provides an insight into ongoing research into the use and coordination of multiple sensors on board autonomous vessels. Autonomous vessels are on the bed, becoming a new element for today's actors at the sea. Security is highly prioritized. Many conditions that can affect safety are to be avoided. How to achieve this with new sensors and their interaction? Innovating maritime training simulators using Virtual and Augmented Reality presenting research and innovation in training of personnel through the use of technology developed within Virtual and Augmented Reality Remote Operation of Machinery and Automation Systems researches methods for how the future's autonomous vessels should be able to operate from a distance. How will a land-based centre ensure the operation and maintenance of machinery and sensors on board ships?

Konferansen tar opp aktuelle temaer i den maritime politikken herunder rammevilkår for rederier og sjøfolk, havner og kystforvaltning, samferdselspolitikk, rekruttering og utdanning, miljøspørsmål, teknologiutvikling, samt sjøsikkerhet og beredskap. Konferansen er fremtidsrettet der bl.a FoU og innovasjon står sentralt. Den teknologiske utviklingen innen sjøtransport går raskt, med økende grad av digitalisering, krav til nye effektive og miljøvennlige løsninger, samt automatiserte operasjoner i en næring med store krav til omstilling. Konferansen har utviklet seg til å fokusere på nyorientering og muligheter for maritim næring. Forskning og utvikling, samt innovasjon har stått sentralt i dette. Konferansene knytter topp politikere, forskere, rederier, havner, sjøfolk, industri og offentlige myndigheter sammen. Voksende og nyere næringer som oppdrett og hav-vind møter innovative miljøer i rederier og verft. Agendaen balanseres mellom bl.a strategier og konkrete utfordringer innen maritim transport. Konferansen har også som mål å legge til rette for at forskjellige miljøer som kan ha nytte av å samarbeide om FoU møtes. Konferansen ønsker å bistå til at gode resultater fra forskning når ut til aktørene. I tillegg ønsker konferansen også å tilby aktørene et område for utstilling.
