H2020 Application ”The changing cryosphere: uncertainties, risks and opportunities, scope c: Sustainable opportunities in a changing Arctic"

The project will develop tools for a just transition into a sustainable Arctic future, based on the latest research insights and guided by indigenous, local, economic, political, civil society organizations and other stakeholders’ knowledge. The main focus will be on different impacts of and responses to shipping, resource extraction and tourism, under particular consideration of the young generations´ and indigenous perspectives. In doing so, this project will assess under which conditions these three central industrial activities are socially, economically and, ecologically viable. Capacity building – with a focus on young generations– is a leading principle in this project and includes young members of the industrial sectors, politics and policy makers, NGOs and in particular the indigenous and non-indigenous local population on different scales.
