BAUTA - Solution for Analysis of Microplastic in Challenging Materials.

There are increasing global awareness and concern regarding the issues of microplastic and the need for greater understanding of the effects microplastic may have on the environment and human health. To enable further knowledge accumulation, monitoring and actions to reduce microplastic pollution, broad access to a method for analysis in challenging materials must be available. Norges Geotekniske Institutt (NGI) are developing a novel method for identification, quantification and classification of microplastic in challenging matrices such as sediments, biota and sludge. The solution includes equipment designed and prototyped and procedures & techniques developed for identification, quantification and classification of microplastic.
