The International Ship Autonomy and Sustainability Summit

Alternative title: The International Ship Autonomy and Sustainability Summit

Awarded: NOK 0.15 mill.

Autonomous ships are emerging as a particularly important area for Norwegian business, both in the transport sector and in the maritime industry. We also see that the area represents a significant export potential and this conference is mainly arranged to increase the international interest in the topic and thus the international market. This requires us to bring forward leading national and international experts to underpin the viability of the market, the obstacles we must co-operate to overcome and the role of research and development in this process. In recent years, the Research Council has financed a large number of projects that develop new technology and knowledge of autonomous ships and presentation of this will be an important element also in this conference.

Panelene har titlene Panel 1: Sustainable and effective ship transport – an imperative need for the world, Panel 2: Autonomous and smart ships as enablers for sustainable transport, Panel 3: Allowing the autonomous ship to sail og Panel 4: Creating the jobs of the future.
