PES Annual Framework grant 2020 University of South-Eastern Norway

The University of South-Eastern Norway has had a coordinated and strategic focus on the ECs Research framework programs. During Horizon 2020, USN has been partner in research projects funded through the following programmes SC6, MSCA ITN, FCH JU, Euratom, ECSEL, EMPIR, Eurostars, ERA Net cofund, and coordinator of a MSCA RISE. USN also participates in 9 COST actions and multiple INTERREG projects. Consistent efforts in USN since the start of Horizon 2020 led to this success and consistently high quality proposals with a number of proposals also on the waiting list. EU ambition has increased at all levels in the organisation due to recent success and this ambition should be harnessed to increase the participation in Horizon Europe, also management. More and more researchers are familiar with and have practical experience applying for EU funding and our research administration has the competence to support both in preaward matters and post. In 2020 we will have a continued focus on ERC and MSCA opportunities and institutionalising the support programs for these. This should help USN attract top research talent through MSCA to our most prominent research groups within USN.. USN is in a phase of rapid development from a research and innovation funding perspective and PES funds are a critical aid to help USN in its pursuit of research excellence in both the fundamental and applied perspectives.
