WISE project: Wireless self-powered technology for continuous and accurate smart sensing

ONiO AS is a company focused on bringing self-powered battery free technology to the IoT market. The company is dedicated to empowering the innovative sensor and data driven transformation by developing and manufacturing innovative smart sensors and radio technology as ultra-low power solutions not requiring a battery. ONiO's key roadmap product is a wireless microcontroller with energy harvesting (ONiO.zero), capable of multi-sensor measurements of essential parameters (e.g. vital signs in the case of medical use). Alongside the ONiO.zero we hope to build a robust, elastic, scalable and easily deployable database and data analytics platform that will enable new products and massive growth in diverse segments (such as IoT, industrial and automation, automotive, etc.). The project will be carried out by ONiO AS, as the project coordinator and lead participant. ONiO AS is a Norwegian R&D performing SME. The major barriers for ONiO going forward relate to: 1) market awareness and acceptance by end-users; 2) access to clients and securing the best commercialization partners; 3) regulatory compliance / medical approvals for the healthcare sector. This project will enable to: 1) mature our core technology (hardware and software); 2) conduct operational demonstrations of our turnkey solutions with test-users; 3) plan the clinical trials for our medical solution; 4) acquire market intelligence and prepare strategic partnering with relevant stakeholders. The EIC Accelerator provides a unique opportunity for ONiO to showcase the potential of its technology to raise customer awareness and overcome the remaining challenges associated with the market adoption of our product. The project is therefore key to accelerate the monetization of the technology and know-how available in-house. In sum, the completion of the project’s goals is intrinsically linked with ONiO AS’ strategy for successful market launch and commercialization of our smart sensor-based products.
