Norwegian Environmental Chemistry Symposium 2020

Alternative title: Norsk Miljøkjemi konferanse 2020

Awarded: NOK 99,999

The Norwegian Environmental Chemistry Symposium (NECS) is a scientific conference series in Norway organized by the Norwegian Chemical Society, Division for Analytical Chemistry (NKS-FAK). The 2020 conference will be hosted in Loen (Hotel Alexandra) by the Norwegian Chemical Society (NKS) chaired by Yngvar Thomasen (STAMI) and Roland Kallenborn (NMBU/KBM). Additional organization committee members are Oddvar Røyset (Secretary), Elin Lovise Gjengedal (NMBU), Georg Becher (UiO), and Lindis Skipperud (NMBU). A dedicated web page is available: www.envirochem.no. The planned conference series is built upon the long-lasting Norwegian traditions of the Norwegian Winter meetings in Environmental chemistry and is planned as a communication platform, for scientific networking and knowledge transfer on all aspects of environmental chemistry. The symposium will be organised every second year and is designed as a unique symposium addressing leading experts, authorities, regulators, scientists, and students in environmental sciences, monitoring, and regulations. Authorities, scientific institutions, contract laboratories, and other commercial partners will exhibit their products and present their services in the frame of NECs. This year's conference will provide an exciting program of plenary lectures on emerging issues, oral presentations in both general and special sessions as well as poster presentations. Examples of special topics are Arctic pollution; Green chemistry; Academic education in environmental chemistry; Pollutant remediation strategies; Regulation and restriction of chemical usage; Pollution in the air, soil, water, sediments, and food, including nanoparticles and radioactive substances; Risk assessments and uncertainties; New methods for evaluation of mixture toxicity; Non-target analytical approaches and many more.
