The RuralisChain proposal will contain several use cases like the follwing: Use Case: TOURISM ESPAÑA - GALICIA Use Case: Wellbeing ROMANIA Use Case: Agrotourism GREECE - Crete Use Case: Energy Finland - Åland island Use Case: Economy Denmark - Region of Bornholm Use Case: Food logistics Norway Of special interest is that Ruralis will be the use case owner and collect pilots and have already identified possible actors like, Oi! Trøndersk mat og drikke (matriketmidt.no), Inderøy Mat https://www.inderoymat.no/, AUK in Stjørdal (https://www.auksmak.no/) and Rørosmat (https://www.rorosmat.no/) Local Food is empowering for rural communities, as it supports a thriving rural ecosystem by fostering social, economic and environmental sustainability. A digital service platform focused on local foods - co-developed with rural actors will contribute to sustainable Smart Villages. A Smart Village supported by a local food digital service platform will not only strengthen and grow rural business communities, but it will boost resilience of rural areas. A key link missing in the local food arena is a solid connection between producer and consumer and between producers. There is also a rural/urban divide in local food communities because of the unique challenges of economic development in rural areas. Data on consumer behavior and trends and benchmarking economic and production data between producers could be utilized by a digital technology solution to address this missing link. Further, it could also use data on the organization of food distribution, logistics, and especially alternative distribution to the main supply chains dominated by a few retailers.
