Representative 4D geological models for public management, renewable energy, and civil engineering

Awarded: NOK 74,999

Digital Geologi AS produces state of the art representative 4D models of the subsurface integrating available data and subject matter expertise. These methods have been historically used in the Oil and Gas sector, specifically within the Exploration and Production (E&P) segment. Digital Geologi now has adapted the technology to the non-petroleum industries and is keen on exploring a virgin market for subsurface geological modelling. Over the last years the company has worked with geological modelling for municipal planning (including natural hazards, urban planning, public services and others), planning of school buildings, renewable energy solutions for replacing oil boilers with geothermal solutions, optimizing geothermal solutions in general, planning of infrastructure projects, like road tunnels and railroads, as well as many other applications. Building 4D geological models that describe the distribution of properties of rock and soil in time and space has proven to significantly increase the precision of the description of the subsurface, in addition to giving a much better understanding of the uncertainties. Digital Geologi AS has also demonstrated that the company is able to significantly reduce the cost of data acquisition compared to conventional solutions. The company has thus documented that it can deliver significant improvements at a very competitive price.
