The overall vision of the ELEGANT Accelerator project is to prototype, pilot and commercialise our novel electric pod drive propulsion package. Today slower going boat users have high costs and high maintenance issues. Furthermore, there is high cost on the environment, due to greenhouse gas emissions from maritime internal combustion engines. Our disruptive and patented electric pods solution is an eco-friendly and modular electric pod propulsion package. With an integrated dynamic hydroelectric power generator, paired with a revolutionary energy and motor control software, enabling unprecedented boating experience, EL-PODs will be first ever of its kind. Compared to other solutions in the market today, EL-PODS provides a unique combination of effective solutions: 1) efficient propulsion and world’s first dynamic hydroelectric charging, 2) software assisted boating experience, 3) integration system with its unprecedentedly reliable electric motor turns electric boating into a worry-free experience. Ultimately, EL-PODs will revolutionize electric boating experience by making it eco-friendly, cost effective, and reducing heavy maintenance operations. The aim of the envisaged project is to move our current prototype technology to TRL8, preparing it for commercialisation onto the global markets. The EL-PODs technology has a major market potential compared to current state-of-the-art technologies. To increase our commercial success and impact, we have created a Strategic Business Plan, as a detailed roadmap, describing all necessary activities we need to undertake to ensure a successful market introduction. Now, we seek to develop our Commercialisation Plan (CP), which will form an important part of the final Business Innovation Plan (BIP), to be created in this Accelerator Pilot project. As the envisaged Accelerator Pilot project builds upon a validated prototype technology, the majority of our efforts will be focused on piloting and commercialisation activities.
