Transformit - Datadreven digital transformasjon

Alternative title: Transformit - Datadriven digital transformation

Awarded: NOK 16.0 mill.

Digital transformation is delivering value in a new way that requires both a strategic change in the organization and the development of new digital technologies. That the future ways of making digital transformation happen through platforms is obvious when you look at the world's largest companies such as Apple, Google and Amazon. Digital platforms allow new forms of transformation; it takes place in ecosystems built around a platform core with loosely connected, digital user services, and changes are based on data available via the platform. Through our long-term commitment to the public sector, we at Knowit have seen two main challenges that must be solved in order to succeed with platform-based digital transformation: 1) The strategic change in the organization must take place at the same time as it builds digital platforms and new user services. 2) Simultaneously requires self-service autonomous development teams that build digital platform and new user services on top of existing technology and available data sources. Solving these challenges requires that the actual transformation and development of the digital platform is data-driven. There is no technology and method that supports this today. This project aims to explore this potential and realize key innovations to create a new, world-leading platform for data-driven digital transformation. Digital transformation means using digital technology to change the way you deliver value. IoT and analytics can be used to change existing business processes, and digital interfaces provide more data on user behavior. This can be used to control the direction of the transformation. Today it is done through subjective assessments, data is collected piecemeal and divided and often after a change, not while the change is taking place. We carry out the project in close collaboration with existing customers and relevant research environments. During the startup phase, the project has identified a detailed research on the following subjects: distributed and autonomous teams, hybrid work, product- and data-teams, metrics and productivity, data ownership and organization, from data to product and service. There is research activities ongoing for all subjects with several published results in an early phase. Knowit is developing their internal data platform with focus on e.g. a toolbox for data-driven digital transformation and support for a data-driven innovation process. The goal is to offer the solution and related processes as a product during the lifetime of the project.
