This project aims to quantify microplastic pollution (concentration, type, form) across several environmental matrices (snow, riverine sediments, marine sediments) in a populated Arctic catchment. It is a multi-year project examining year-on-year change at select stations, and how plastic debris is incorporated into (and flows with) the seasonally driven glaciofluvial-marine sediment system of Longyeardalen.
