KVAL: Fruit quality measurement device

A new technology which enables instant and non-destructive fruit quality measurement is presented, which can greatly improve the ability to provide consistent high-quality fruit to consumers, and reduce costs and time of quality control processes compared to today's methods. The project goal is to verify the technology in an industrial production line.

The results in the project further validate the potential for a technology that can help reduce food waste and increase fruit consumption. The project results are promising and the cooperation between NTNU and the industry partner will continue. To enable commercial utilization of the technology further research and market analysis are required.
