STUD: Aviant- Drone Transport Between Hospitals

Alternative title: STUD: Aviant - Dronetransport mellom sykehus

Awarded: NOK 1.00 mill.

Aviant performs long-distance deliveries between hospitals using drone technology. In February 2021, the team completed the first autonomous flight between Røros and Trondheim, at 120 km, which is the longest autonomous drone flight completed in Norway. The company has today signed 8 paying contracts and flown more than 20,000 KM in both Norway and Sweden. To date, the project has resulted in more than 1,000 flights (20,000 km + in flying distance), eight paying contracts, and operations in both Sweden and Norway. In addition, sharp tests have been carried out, where, among other things, blood samples have been transported. The aim of the STUD project was to ensure stable operation of drone transport of biological samples for St. Olav's hospital between Røros and Trondheim. We have managed this and now fly biological samples daily between the hospitals with drones.

Yes, the project obtained the following results: 1) A new contract to continue flying blood samples after this project period ends. 2) Flights down to 1 hour in duration, compared to 2.5 hours with car. 3) Since the project started, we've flown more than 1,000 real flights.
